The garden of Kerusten

Noelle & Philippe told us that they’ve always loved Brittany.
Almost each summer their whole family drove from Strasbourg to the far West of France for summer vacation.
The dream of living in the countryside of Finistere became stronger and stronger. Years later they found Kerusten, a neglected farm in the heart of Brittany. With time and help of friends from all over the world the garden of Kerusten came alive again. Houses were renovated keeping their charm and surrounding green was turned into a labyrinth garden and rose nursery. It’s the kind of garden where children can play hide and seek for hours.

We met Noelle and Phillipe on our journey through France in October. We learned a lot from their fabulous cooking skills and endless hospitality. Kerusten garden is open to visitors during summer. In autumn Kerusten turns into a quite place slowly preparing for winter to come.
Rose seedlings which where plunged into the earth one year ago had  to be back into pots. That was our mission and usually the last mission before wintertime. Doing that Marcus photographed rose labels.
On our arrival to the garden of Kerusten the green was so intense and present. Almost like in a rainforest. Damp and moist.
