Cote d’Azur Wedding Photographer // Nathalie & Hamza

Nathalie & Hamza live in Melbourne/Australia and got married at the Côte d’Azur. A big part of Hamzas family lives in France, others came from Holland & Spain and their close friends from Australia, Singapore & USA flew in as well. Nathalie was one of the most relaxed brides we ever met. She helped her girls getting ready, did their makeup, sipped up their dresses and then casually slipped into her wedding dress. Hamzas smile was simply overwhelming and couldn’t be shaken – even when he recognized that he left his suit in a taxi in Toulon. It was one of these smaller weddings where one instantly senses how memories, friendship and love tie each and every one together. After the wedding Hamza and Nathalie packed their suitcase once again and traveled on to Istanbul and their friends came along.

Bavaria Wedding Photographer | Gut Sedlbrunn

Wedding in Bavaria Gut Sedlbrunn

After we have photographed the civil ceremony of Mona & Thorsten at Schloss Hofstetten, we followed the wedding crowd to Gut Sedlbrunn next day. It was time to prepare for the big day of Mona & Thorsten. They live in Munich and had some ideas for their fest, which needed to be done.

Additionally, a chinese tea ceremony had to be prepared, which was contrasted by traditional Bavarian clothing. Thorsten grew up in Munich and has an Indonesian mother with Chinese roots. He worked in Jakarta/Indonesia for some years. That’s where he met Mona.

They often smile thinking about the flow of events which took them so far away from home so they could cross each others paths.
The wedding day brought lots of surprises. Mona had secretly rented  a VW Beatle, Thorstens favorite oldtimer. Another surprising moment came when the Indonasian priest gave Mona and Thorsten gifts for their union. One of the gifts was a song – precisely: “Can you feel the love tonight“ from Elton John. When he started to sing in his beauitful full voice nobody could believe their ears – it was perfect. Maybe the first time that ever happened in a Bavarian catholic church.

We documented both of Monas and Thorstens weddings in Bavaria. This is day one, their civil marriage at Schloss Hofstetten. Months later Mona and Thorsten celebrated their second wedding at Gut Sedlbrunn, another unknown treasure in Bavarian wedding locations. If we would have to describe this couple with one word each, it would be energy and kindness.

Louise & Andi

French Countryside Wedding

Louise met Andi on the first day she arrived in Kinshasa / Congo, where they both work for doctors without borders . When we talked on Skype for the first time, she said, that it seems surreal sometimes to plan and think about a wedding whilst dealing with serious humanitarian crises on a daily basis. I for one can imagine that it would feel a little weird to decide on color schemes or flowers. And thinking of what goes on in the world today one can say that this weirdness is in all our lifes and it raises so many questions.
But, continued Louise, it’s also the reason why it is important to focus on good things sometimes, to make beautiful memories with your loved ones, to dress up and celebrate. Her words still keep me thinking. Maybe to do good in the world, you need to have something good in your life, too.
To become a part of theirs for one day was special – as it always is. We discovered a part of the French countryside we didn’t knew yet and fully dived into what felt like a world on its own. The wedding venue were the gardens and houses belonging to Louises family. Andi and the boys got ready in Louises mother atelier. (She is a painter currently living in Madagascar.)
