Misurina cross country skiing in a blizzard

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING IN MISURINA

On our way to France in the beginning of this year, we spent a few days in Misurina.Misurina is a remote village at a lake 30 minutes uphill from Cortina d’ Ampezzo. We arrived off season and loved the quietness of the place. The hotel we stayed in was empty and a ”Shining” feeling followed us in a good way. Its interior was spiced by original 70ties furniture. We love places like this – a bit old fashioned and weird. When the blizzard came  it snowed for three days.

HOW TO PHOTOGRAPH WITH A BROKEN PENTAX MX DURING A SNOWSTORM?

Our broken 35mm Pentax film camera went with us into the snowstorm. We had to remove the lens and fold up the mirror by hand to make a photograph. Not till then we could wind the curtain and push the trigger. Of course snow crystals inside a cameras body is something bad.
By the end of our trip the camera broke down completely. These are the last photos with our Pentax MX. No fancy camera, no fancy scans, but some of our favorite personal shots of this year.
