Louise & Andi

French Countryside Wedding

Louise met Andi on the first day she arrived in Kinshasa / Congo, where they both work for doctors without borders . When we talked on Skype for the first time, she said, that it seems surreal sometimes to plan and think about a wedding whilst dealing with serious humanitarian crises on a daily basis. I for one can imagine that it would feel a little weird to decide on color schemes or flowers. And thinking of what goes on in the world today one can say that this weirdness is in all our lifes and it raises so many questions.
But, continued Louise, it’s also the reason why it is important to focus on good things sometimes, to make beautiful memories with your loved ones, to dress up and celebrate. Her words still keep me thinking. Maybe to do good in the world, you need to have something good in your life, too.
To become a part of theirs for one day was special – as it always is. We discovered a part of the French countryside we didn’t knew yet and fully dived into what felt like a world on its own. The wedding venue were the gardens and houses belonging to Louises family. Andi and the boys got ready in Louises mother atelier. (She is a painter currently living in Madagascar.)

ENGAGEMENT PHOTO SHOOT | Sylvia & Bo

Chinese couple engagement photo shoot South of France

pre wedding reportage in South of France

Nǐ hǎo!

We have a new favorite – engagement photo shoots!
When Sylvia and Bo contacted us and asked if we could do a full day couple photo shooting with them, we were a little surprised. A full day? Hell yeah!
In some ways planning this shoot was quite different from any ‘normal’ two hour photo shoot, because apart from taking great photos there were lots of other things to think about. It was our goal to organize a full day on different locations. But also to make it super relaxed and fun without worrying too much about time. Being in front of a camera can be exhausting as well. So we also thought about taking breaks to enjoy the scenery, where to eat and packed our ice box with cold drinks. All in all it was like planning the perfect day for two friends who come visit us in the South of France.
We are used to travel where people need us to be. This time is was the other way around. Sylvia and Bo told us they will fly to Hyères just for the photo shoot. A real honor for us. This is the day we spent together featuring some of our favourite places like Villa Noailles in Hyères, Bormes Les Mimosas and the Club Nautique in Cavalière and some of our favorite animals, too.

Julie & Henry

Wedding Plage Keller in Antibes

Antibes Wedding Photographer

“Little darling, it’s been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it’s been here
Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun, and I say
It’s all right.” George Harrison

Summer, sea and the smell of sun lotion.
Julie and Henry got married in Antibes – on the very same beach where they met for the first time years ago.
They had an intimate ceremony on the landing stage of Plage Keller. ‘Here comes the sun’ was the song that Julie chose for her walk down aisle.

Yui & Camille

Photographe Mariage Hyères

Hochzeit in Hyeres SüdfrankreichSome days ago Camille and Yui picked us up and we headed to the beach to enjoy a warm sunny November day.
When they first contacted us they were still living in Paris. Winter 2014 they visited Hyères, the town were Camille grew up and the site of their future wedding. We grabbed the opportunity to meet and had coffee at the only place which was still open during calm winter season. A typical plastic beach bar on the seafront of St Clair.
It was a stormy day and  impressive waves crashed on the beach while we were talking about their wedding. We instantly felt that we could be friends. At that time Yui and Camille had thoughts about moving to Hyères. So we kept our fingers crossed and a few months later we actually became neighbours for some time. What a unique way of becoming  friends.

Camille and Yui both work in fashion and we loved how their feel for effortless elegance, color and materials flew into their wedding day.

Sebastien & Markus Luberon

Gay wedding Provence at Mas de Boutonnet

at the pool

One summer day Hanni and I drove up North to meet Sebastien & Markus in the Luberon region around Avignon.
Markus and Sebastien already got married in a civil ceremony in Brussels. Sebastien is Belgian, Markus is from Southern Germany and they live in Zurich these days. We witnessed the ceremony at Mas de Boutonnet which was accompanied by speeches of close family members and friends.
One of the most moving weddings we ever photographed. Their joy for each others commitment connected everybody who was part of their wedding, including us.
First and foremost Markus and Sebastien wanted everybody to have a good time – a day to be remembered, with good Belgium beer, Provencal regional food, games, a warm summer night filled with the sound of cicadas – or as they put it simply: ‘We wanted a day in Provence.’
First thing I stumbled upon in the morning was this carved stone lying on a remote field somewhere on the property.
