“We were searching for a photographer that could capture the comfort, familiarity and home we had already created for ourselves – our story, not just a wedding.”

My father the sailor

sailor portraitMarcus took this portrait of my father sailing on a lake around Schwerin. For me there is a special feeling of comfort which emerges from this photo. It was raining, there was almost no wind at all – still my father doesn’t think about starting the motor. He enjoys silence and getting where he wants to be – even if it takes him a few hours more. The boat we are sailing on he built himself.

Art Basel Miami Beach Cavalière

One day Marcus came home and said: ” I found an exhibition space for your paintings.” I didn’t even know he was looking for one. A few weeks later on easter weekend we turned an empty store in Cavalière into a temporary exhibition space. I was showing paintings and Marcus photography. It was fun to do an exhibtion where no one would expect it. A contrast we like and a great way to talk to many nice people. Thanks to everybody who came and was curious, thanks for the chocolate fish Y & C and thank you Marcus my love.

Marcus and I both started personal Tumblr blogs. Again I’m showing paintings and he photography.

shuffled and shaked

We have been quietly working last month. The wedding season is about to start (we’re especially excited about this one) and there were a few things we wanted to get done before. For one we just put together a new website called Troistudios Interior to display our interior and architecture photography. What do we like about interior photography? It’s an interesting contrast to the fast, intuitive and documentary way of shooting during a wedding day. Composing and arranging pictures to the dot brings out the perfectionists in us and it’s also just a lot of fun to research and find little architectural treasures like this beach house of Jean Prouvé.

And another project on the side: My new website/tumblr blog where I will show paintings – old stuff, new stuff, shuffled and shaked and maybe I will write a few lines as well. // H

Something about us

Six years ago Marcus and I met in art school in Braunschweig. Whenever we tell people that we studied fine arts they usually think that we studied photography. The truth is – it’s not that simple. We did other stuff like throwing color out of the car while driving at speed of 100 km/h. (See video below.) The result is the Nascar speed painting which you can find on Marcus website. So we wanted to tell you a little bit more about us and how we became wedding photographers or photographers in general and we wrote a little text which you will find here.
// cheers Hanni & Marcus

Tempting island

Swimming to this island took us 25 minutes both ways. We could have walked though because the water was only 5 ft.
