Due to a long day of wedding shooting I had the day before, my voice still sounded sleepy when Anna called. She didn’t mind. As soon as she described their wedding plans and the location in Wegendorf I felt awake again. I knew I would love to be a part of this and I’m still amazed how everything worked out.
Anna and Alexander are a very spontaneous and relaxed couple and to me their wedding reflected this attitude. They created a surrounding for their guests to be casual and comfortable. There was a beautiful old barn and a wild garden full of flowers belonging to an ancient farm house. The festivity took place outdoors and was blessed with a perfect summer day.
The bride and the groom have very talented friends, who helped them a lot. When I got there in the morning they were arranging flowers, decorating tables, cooking, cutting hair, tuning guitars… So actually everybody from hairdresser to cook and musician was somehow a friend. And I guess that’s why everybody thought I was a friend, too.
Their ceremony took place under a giant walnut tree and was accompanied by live music and singing. At dawn, the many self-made paper lanterns where lit and later in the evening the crowd danced and partied under a clear sky full of stars and a disco ball hanging in a fir tree.
